You already know about Savannah?s dog friendly dining options, but where can you bring Fido to get that much needed 12-18 hours of sleep that your furry friend often ?needs? (aka wants?or is that just our dog!?)? Take your pick of the litter between pet friendly hotels, B&Bs or vacation rentals when you visit Savannah with your pup. I?ve focused on the B&Bs as these provide your pooch plenty of space and a quintessential Southern hospitality experience.

Foley House Inn
Arguably the most lenient of the Savannah pet friendly options, Foley House Inn has 19 guestrooms designed to ?glance back at Savannah?s opulence.? They allow dogs AND cats, have no breed or size restrictions, and allow them in the courtyard. The innkeepers are dog lovers themselves and travel frequently with their own pets and have even been known to walk guests? hounds on occasion.

Cost: One-time $50 fee; http://www.foleyinn.com/savannah-pet-friendly/

Galloway House
Galloway House has four private apartments that include a living room, bedroom stocked kitchen, and private bath. They have no size restrictions, but do have a few breed restrictions and don?t allow puppies under nine months old. Dogs can also enjoy the courtyard here as you lounge in the Southern sun.

President?s Quarters Inn
This B&B allows for four-legged friends less than 30 pounds on the first floor only. This property is in a sought-after locale and has won Best Bed & Breakfast for 5 consecutive years (and honestly, I was surprised to discover it was pet friendly due to its luxurious setting). Pooches can enjoy the courtyard here as well.

Hamilton Turner Inn
Another surprising pet friendly spot is the famous Hamilton Turner Inn, a 4 Diamond AAA hotel that?s also rated #1 on Tripadvisor and was voted one of America?s most romantic hotels by Travel+Leisure in 2012. Pets are not allowed in any common areas, but they?ll be too busy lapping up the luxury to notice.

Forsyth Park Inn
Another option for those wanting to bring their dog or cat, Forsyth Park Inn has one cottage on site that connects to the main house via a courtyard that your pup can enjoy; however, its location directly across from large Forsyth Park is a pet wonderland that you?ll want to enjoy together. They too have no breed or size restrictions due to the private nature of the cottage.

Pet policy: One time $40 for one pet, $50 for 2 pets http://www.forsythparkinn.com/cottage.html

Joan?s on Jones
This B&B is another uber pet friendly spot and sits tucked away on Savannah?s best street, Jones Street. Their two guest suites are decorated in authentic period pieces reflecting the building?s 1883 charm, and the dog-loving owners leave a sweet little doggie bandana filled with treats alongside with one of the best human treats?a complimentary bottle of wine! They have no size or breed restrictions and even have their own inn tail-wagger, Maggie.

Pet policy: One lifetime $50 fee (they?ll even honor this on your return visits!); http://www.joansonjones.com/guest-suites-2/policies-cancellations/

Bonus: Thunderbird Inn
Although Thunderbird Inn isn?t a B&B, I had to give them a special shout out as they are super pet-friendly and personal animal lovers. The property includes a pet run, and in-room doggie amenities include a bed, dog dishes, gourmet pet treats, pickup bags, souvenir dog tag, food, shampoo and pet-friendly places printout for guests. Limited to 50 lbs. and under, cats are welcome too, but animals must be crated when you leave your room. Thunderbird Inn is also an official sponsor of the Savannah Wiener Dog Race.
